This seminar course, limited to 20 students, is intended for advanced graduate students in Urban Planning and Architecture, particularly those interested in urban design. It is intended to familiarize planners and designers with the financial decision-making process in real estate development which actually determines the shape of urban environments. A primary objective of the course is to prepare students to calculate basic financial feasibility of a project, such that students who complete the course successfully will be able to determine whether a scheme of their own creation would have a chance of being constructed under prevailing market conditions.

This is the first part of a two course sequence required of all students in the MS Arch Real Estate Development degree program.
